Justin Timberlake Talks ‘Respect’, Being a Leading Man, & When He’ll Sing Again
Justin Timberlake made the Comic-Con press rounds before unwinding a bit at Wired Cafe. JT was promoting In Time with Amanda Seyfried, and he talked about how this is the first movie he feels like he’s playing a leading man.
“I look at this movie as my first real lead in a movie. I think it’s a two-hander and this one for me is you wake up with my character and I’ll be one of the last face’s you’ll see,” Timberlake said at a press conference for the film.
One reporter went there with the “Sexy Back” singer and asked if he had any new music coming our way soon. Don’t count on it…
“Oh God, I have been waiting for somebody to ask me that here,” Justin said. “So glad that you did that. I have a single coming out next week. That’s a joke.”
“I just peed a little,” Seyfried said laughing.
“I don’t know. I am not sure. When is your album coming out?” Justin said, looking at Amanda.
“I sing once in a while, but I am not that great at it. I just like to do covers every once in a while. If someone pays me to go into the studio with Matt Dillon, I’ll do it, but I am not that good,” the Mamma Mia star said. “I’d really like to be though.”
In Time is set in the future where people stop aging at 25 and must work to buy themselves more time. OK Magazine asked Amanda and Justin what their ideal age would be if they could stop aging, of which the Big Love actress replied:
“I can’t imagine staying at one age. I guess ideally, I’d want to be 20 physically, but 40 mentally.”
As for Justin, he answered, “I just want some respect. No, its not stopping so, I don’t have a choice.”
