Following her husband Russell Brand's touching tribute to the late singer Amy Winehouse, Katy Perry also spoke out about the troubled star that passed away in her London home on Saturday, July 23.

In an interview with Good Morning America on Monday, Katy admitted that her "heart felt really sad" upon hearing the news of the "Rehab" singer's death. The pop star told GMA she hopes Amy "finds peace." Katy added that this only makes her more grateful that her husband overcame his addiction at age 27. A proud wife, the singer said of Russell:

"My husband, who's been clean and sober for almost nine years, you know, I see him working a program and working on himself every single day. And I see how much work it takes to be clean and sober when you have, you know, addiction on your hands. So it gave me a real gratefulness for my husband, who got clean when he was 27."
As for Russell's tribute to the Amy, Katy commented:
"It's a really poignant and interesting piece about how when you know somebody is dealing with addiction, you dread that phone call. Sometimes that phone call is that person calling up saying, 'I've had enough, I want recovery', sometimes it's that unfortunate phone call, but there will always be a phone call."
