O-M-Glee! Lea Michele, Cory Monteith & Chris Colfer Not Leaving Show, Co-Creator Says
Good news, Gleeks! It appears Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer won’t be leaving the show after all.
Fans were sent into a tizzy after co-creator Ryan Murphy said the show’s lead characters would graduate McKinley high this season — leaving many to speculate that they would leave the show entirely.
Not so, says Brad Falchuk, Glee‘s other co-creator.
“They’re seniors. They’re graduating,” he said at the at Glee Comic-Con panel this past weekend. ”But that doesn’t mean they’re leaving the show. It was never our intention or plan to let these people go… They are not done with the show after this season.”
There’s been a great deal of confusion about the events that will transpire this season — which, if intentional, is an excellent way to create buzz for the show. Chris said he found out about the news via Twitter, but Ryan had previously told the Hollywood Reporter: “We made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that was a good idea.”
It seems highly unlikely that all three of the show’s main characters would be written off entirely, but only time will tell!
