Sarah Jessica Parker: 'I Do Take The Subway'
In the new upcoming issue of Marie Claire Magazine, SJP reveals that she's just like anyone else when it comes to everyday tasks. The glamorous life that she gets to play on the big and small screen is in fact, only an act.
"I am so sensitive about not ever living up to anybody's worst idea about an actor who is well-known," she says, adding that she "never wanted to be a celebrity."
Most commonly known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City, she lights up the cover in a bright orange and pink dress, while rocking her signature wavy hairstyle. Although fashion never seems to fail her--with all her upscale name brand clothes and shoes -- the actress says she's actually extremely down to earth.
"I never wanted to be a celebrity; I never wanted to be famous," she says. "In my daily life, I work really hard to not trade on it in any way. I am so desperately worried about anybody saying, 'She cut in line' or 'She took our table' or 'She got out of jury duty' or 'She doesn't do her own grocery shopping.' The things that bother me are counter to who I am and the way I live. It's not like it's hard to be decent and respectful and well-behaved. I do wait in line, and I do take the subway, and I do do my own grocery shopping, and I do take the kids to school."
