First Look! Tom Cruise in 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol' (PHOTO)

Tom Cruise isn't showing off that trademark smile that we know and love in this pic! Ethan Hunt is back for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Celebuzz has your first look at T-Cruise in character!

The acclaimed actor will be joined by Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner, and the IMDB description for the movie reads:

"The IMF is shut down when it's implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Ethan Hunt and his new team to go rogue to clear their organization's name."
The new MI isn't set to hit theaters until Dec. 21,  2011.

When he's not going rogue, Tom is out and about with his two best girls, wife Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise. Click the pics to see the father-daughter duo at gymnastics.

That these motion pictures were NOT in continuity with the series, as Mr. Cruise had pointed out was the case, made them all essentially reworkings of the action comedies "Our Man Flint" and "In Like Flint," both of which had starred the late James Coburn as Derek Flint, agent of Z.O.W.I.E., but with none of the humor Mr. Coburn had brought to the role.

That would have been how he explained it. Still, it humiliated, even as it placated, Missionaries who had grown up familiar with Peter Graves starring as Impossible Missions Force Director James Phelps, captain of "The Director's Own Mission Team," and had repeatedly refused to accept the performance of Jonathan Voight in the role.

Tom Cruise stated that all of the Mission Impossible movies are set in their own alternate reality/universe and are not sequels or connected to each other. That explains why there is no continuity between the movies and why they keep using mostly new casts.
