Both Kim Kardashian and Demi Lovato have had a really big year -- Kim got engaged and Demi is riding the wave of a major comeback -- and the two were united at the Do Something Awards this weekend! Both brunette beauties were on hand for the show that honors those who give back.

Making a special appearance as a presenter, Kim introduces Demi by saying, "Here to sing her chart-topping smash Skyscraper for the first time on television, my friend, our friend, Demi Lovato."

The crowd quickly erupts into applause and Demi hits the stage. So, how did she sound?

One word: Amazing! The live performance showcased her voice, which has surprised many critics who wrote her off as a Disney studio creation.

Even before her performance, Demi was feeling the love from her Twitter fans, who were giving their words of support all day on Sunday. “Thank you so much for all the amazing comments today!!! I love you all!!!” Lovato wrote in response — and she even passed 4 million followers on Sunday!

You can catch Demi’s performance when the Do Something Awards air on VH1 this Thursday, August 18. For now, just enjoy the official video for “Skyscraper” — which has racked up nearly 16 million views — below:

:) ok I admit I saw just a bit of her performance. I'll still watch when it airs but wow did it make me tear up. I rarely cry, I think the last time I cried was maybe 1 yr ago I think. I don't even remember anyhow what i'm trying to say is that this performance really touched my heart. I felt like it was therapy for me, it was kind of weird for me. Not used to crying like a baby. She makes me Happy. I have such high high high hopes for her. One of the best singers of this generation. I'm just in awe.
