DJ Pauly D Calls Out Abercrombie & Fitch on 'GTL' Shirt (PHOTO)
You gotta admit, DJ Pauly D has a point! Following news that the brand Abercrombie & Fitch no longer wanted the Jersey Shore cast to wear their clothes, the MTV reality star bit back, tweeting:
"Hmmm if They Don't Want Us To Wear Those Clothes Why Make GTL Shirts."Anyone who watches (or even doesn't watch) the show knows that GTL stems from the Shore saying, "Gym, Tan, Laundry," of which the boys abbreviated to "GTL." In the tweet, Pauly D provided photographic evidence of the A&F T-shirt, as seen above. Who's side are you on in this fashion controversy: the Jersey Shore cast or A&F? Sound off in the comments!!!
Aside from just requesting the cast not to wear the clothes, they have offered them money to cease promotion of the brand. “This association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans,” the company said in a release.
MTV responded to A&F's request, saying, "It's a clever PR stunt and we'd love to work with them on other ways they can leverage Jersey Shore to reach the largest youth audience on television."
Also of note, the brand once sold a shirt that read "The Fitchuation".Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr for more celebrity news, pics and vids!
