Grab Some Ron Ron Juice & Hit the Theater for Jersey Shoresical: A Frickin' Rock Opera
Who would have ever thought the boy's silly "It's T-Shirt Time" song would inspire all this? Jersey Shore is being spoofed in a stage musical!
Daniel Franzese and Hanna LoPatin are the proud parents of Jersey Shoresical: A Frickin' Rock Opera, that will play at the upcoming New York International Fringe Festival.
Daniel definitely knows a thing or two about comedy, he had some of the funniest lines in Mean Girls alongside Lindsay Lohan. He says of the show:
"I am a fan of the show. I think I was the first fan of the show because I'm Italian from New York and even when I heard they were casting it, I was like, oh my God. I was just so excited about it because I know so many guidos in my own family."
Why a musical? "Hannah and I always joke that musical theater comes from a moment where your emotions are so high that you can't do anything else but sing. The emotions on that show are at such a high level that the only thing left to do is musical-ize them."
When it comes to the cast, "I pretty much love Snooki and J-Woww the most," he says. "I want to be their friend. I grew up in a very teasing family. My brand of comedy has never been to do anything that would make anyone feel bad. It's more like making fun of the things that their friends would make fun of them for."
Catch Jersey Shoresical: A Frickin' Rock Opera at the New York International Fringe Festival at the Bleecker Street Theater from August 23-28.
The show also had an LA run and they're planning on touring this fall. Follow them @Shoresical on Twitter for all the latest!
