‘Hunger Games’ Footage to Debut at MTV Video Music Awards

Guess there's one more reason to tune into the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards: the first footage The Hunger Games will make its world premiere during the show! According to Next Movie, fans will finally see what all the hype is about. The glimpse into the anticipated film event of 2012 will surely be enough to keep the book series’ die-hard fans happy enough for a while.

Over the last month, a number of photos from the highly-anticipated  film have been released. In one shot, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Gale (Liam Hemsworth) are seen plotting some sort of strategy in the woods, while in another, Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) is seen brooding outside of a pastry shop.

The movie series, slated by many as “the next Twilight,” will very likely turn its three stars into massive Hollywood actors. Lawrence, who’s the most well-known thanks to her critically acclaimed role in Winter’s Bones,  told Entertainment Weekly of landing the role:

“I knew that as soon as I said yes, my life would change. And I walked around an entire day thinking ‘It’s not too late, I could still go back and do indies, I haven’t said yes yet, it’s not too late.’”
