10 Things You May Not Know About Zoe Saldana (PHOTOS)
Despite being in the highest grossing movie of all time (Avatar, for those of you living under a rock), Zoe Saldana's personal life is still for the most part, well, under a rock.
The 32-year-old tri-state area native has been hitting the Hollywood pavement since she first hit the small screen in 1999 in an uncredited role on everyone's favorite procedural crime drama Law & Order: SVU. She later showcased her talents in flicks such as Center Stage (2000), Crossroads (2002) and as Nick Cannon's love interest in 2002's Drumline.
The Latin beauty started to gain steam in 2003 when she was cast in a minor, but important, role in Disney's juggernaut Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and later cast in 2005's Guess Who. But the world didn't fully take notice of the lovely Zoe until she starred as Nyota Uhura in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek.
This weekend, Zoe stars in Colombiana that centers around a young child who witnesses her parents' murder and decides to become an assassin in hopes to one day revenge her parents death. Sounds intense! In a recent interview with Chris Yandek, the sexy star talked about the physically demanding role, saying, "I love the fact that it was also a physically challenging movie where you know usually it’s male actors that get to be the protagonist in these action movies and for it to have been a female and also a Latina female, it made me feel so happy and humbled.”
