Lady Gaga Channels Male Alter Ego, Jo Calderone, for 'You & I' at 2011 VMAs (VIDEO)

After weeks of speculation about how Lady Gaga would outdo herself at the 2011 MTV VMAs, she appeared on stage and performed as a man. Dressed as her alter ego, Jo Calderone, the singer opened the show with "You & I." Throughout the song, she smoked a cigarette, threw in several curse words and sprayed a bottle of beer onto the crowd. After playing the piano, she broke out into a dance number with her backup dancers.
