Elisabetta Canalis Talks About Breakup with George Clooney: I'm a Doormat
Speaking about their breakup for the first time, Elisabetta Canalis says she feels ending her relationship with George Clooney is "a personal failure" and that she is a "doormat" when it comes to love.
The Italian beauty has found success as a model, TV personality and newly announced Dancing with the Stars contestant -- but says her romantic life is a little more complicated.
"At the end of the day I have always seen the end of my relationships as a personal failure," the 32-year-old tells Italian magazine Chi (via Us). "There is nothing ever pretty in saying goodbye."
"I'm a bit of a tomboy, but when it comes to love I am a doormat," she added. "I'm looking for men who can give me security ... The end of a relationship is complicated."
It appears things are on the upswing, however.
"Here in Los Angeles I have found serenity," she says. "I've also found work. It was a difficult time for me, but you have to get on with things."
Now she's moving on with a positive outlook, saying, "In the past I would self destruct when it came to love -- I was immature, throwing myself into things but now times have changed, I want a relationship where you understand the other person."
