A look back at George Clooney's relationships.
Speaking about their breakup for the first time, Elisabetta Canalis says she feels ending her relationship with George Clooney is “a personal failure” and that she is a “doormat” when it comes to love.

The Italian beauty has found success as a model, TV personality and newly announced Dancing with the Stars contestant — but says her romantic life is a little more complicated.

“At the end of the day I have always seen the end of my relationships as a personal failure,” the 32-year-old tells Italian magazine Chi (via Us). “There is nothing ever pretty in saying goodbye.”

“I’m a bit of a tomboy, but when it comes to love I am a doormat,” she added. “I’m looking for men who can give me security … The end of a relationship is complicated.”

It appears things are on the upswing, however.

“Here in Los Angeles I have found serenity,” she says. “I’ve also found work. It was a difficult time for me, but you have to get on with things.”

Now she’s moving on with a positive outlook, saying, “In the past I would self destruct when it came to love — I was immature, throwing myself into things but now times have changed, I want a relationship where you understand the other person.”
