We started off as friends throughout high school and quickly turned into best friends – little did we know we were soul mates!

It was like a fairytale… words can’t even tell you how magical that whole night was!

We are planning our wedding for next summer and are having it at Navy Pier where everything began – we couldn’t be more excited!!

Me and my fiancé meet when we were 16 in JROTC. We became friends for 6 months and then decided to date, it’s 4 years later and we are engaged. I am sweet, soft spoken, wants to please everyone type of girl, and Chris is out going, care free, and makes me stick up for myself. There are so many ways to fall in love, but the hardest has to be across an ocean. My fiancé Ranjeev and I met in 2008, while I was studying for my Doctorate in Chicago and he a lawyer in London. We met in Chicago at a party, and never really thought anything of it. However, social networking kept us interested. Our one paragraph email turned into 2-3 pages of letters to each other. We have spent half our relationship apart, but always knew and felt we belonged together. Each meeting (every 2-3 months) is like our first. We fall in love with each other more and more. Tim & I met thru close friends. I was engaged back in 1994 to the man of my dreams. We had a wedding planned for May 13th 1995 and on April 2 1995 he died in a motorcycle accident. Still grieving I started dating a guy name Chris. We ended up getting married and had 3 kids. Our first born May 13, 2000. Imagine that! I just new something was missing. Aaron and I met online in April 2010. He lives in CA, USA and I live in Denmark, Europe. Against all odds, we became best friends and talked for hours everyday, and in January 2010 I went to visit him in CA and fell completely in love with him. Ricky and I have been together for 6 years and going to tie the knot next summer. One day my brother and I were supposed to be meeting up to hang out at a friend’s house and he brought my fiance. We were so excited and could not wait until our new journey would begin as parents. I had a great pregnancy with no complications and on August 9, 2006 our beautiful little girl was born. Shortly after she was born our worst nightmare come true. When she was born she had pulmonary hypertension, so her blood bypassed her lungs and she could not breathe. They had to care flight and transfer her to a better hospital. Ricky went with her while I had to stay and wonder what was going on. 20 long days later our little girl passed away and heaven gained the most beautiful angel. It has been 6 years now and Ricky and I are still going strong and madly in love, he is my rock, my strength, my supporter and my best friend. It was love at first sight! We met through a mutual friend and had the long distance relationship for over a year until I left my home in Los Angeles to be with him in Dallas. Six months into the relationship, God gave us an obstacle in our lives when he was diagnosed with cancer. It was difficult because we were apart that the time. I was able to visit him frequently to help him fight the disease. A year later, we found out he was cancer-free! Our love for each other helped fight the cancer away. We’re now living together, three years later, and couldn’t be happier. We’re happy, healthy, living, and ready to be married!

My fiancée, Robert and I have known each other since I was 11. (He was my brother’s friend and always had a crush on me, I wasn’t interested because of that reason!!) My husband and I are already married but I hope to still be considered. My Husband is in the United States Army and is currently serving overseas in Afghanistan. We decided to have a small ceremony in March before he deployed, with the hopes of having a bigger one someday. One might ask why we got married last minute, by a Justice of the Peace instead of just waiting until he came home, giving me enough time to plan a bigger, more elaborate wedding? When you have a Husband deploying to the Middle East, marriage is not about the fairytale wedding and the princess dress, it’s about what’s important– two people becoming one and vowing to spend the rest of their lives together. However, every girl dreams of having that fairytale wedding and I think my Husband and I absolutely deserve it when he’s back from Afghanistan in Spring of 2012. Our relationship is long distance and based on very little communication yet we have still made it work. As they say, distance has no correlation to love. My Husband and I don’t regret having a small, Justice of the Peace ceremony before he deployed but given the oppertunity to one day have the ceremony we both deserve, would give us the normalcy in our relationship that every other couple already has.

I want nothing more than to be Mrs. Newton! I believe all things happen for a reason and for what ever reason this will be my second marriage. Jeff found me in an abusive marriage and if it werent for him I may not have found the strength to get out and I fear I may not have survived. Recently family issues have evolved and matthew and myself have been having to pay for every little thing oursleves and he wants me to have my dream wedding. After moving back in with my parents due to family problems the dog in the picture (he had bought for me while he was away so i would have something by my side till he was home) was hit by a speeding car. Everything at this point seems to be falling apart. We set our date on a thursday so we can afford the plates. Everythings been a hard time. But in the end all i want to do is make him fall inlove with me all over again. I got the call from one of my bridesmaids today about this, and the funnier part was that i was looking up pics from ur wedding to c how gorgeous ur dress was so I can go from there. I thought, “If I could end up with a man like that, I would be a happy girl!” He is tall (a foot taller than me), athletic and has the most handsome smile I’ve ever seen. (Kim, can you relate to this?!) After graduation, he moved to Chicago to be with me so that we could build our lives and careers together. This past April, he took me on a surprise helicopter ride over the city and proposed in the air! When we landed, our families and friends were waiting to congratulate us. On February 25th, 2009 I got a text from my “secret admirer”!! Turned out that it was my now fiancé, who had stolen my number from one of his friends phone. LOL. On memorial day weekend 2006 I had went to visit my friend down at the shore at her new house, to my surprise there was this cute guy really shy sitting with all these other guys I knew he was different because most guys are very full of themselves and he wasn’t, we started talking and it was instant I knew he was the one, I was really sick that night and he stayed with me that night, I woke up in his arms with a fever feeling horrible but I felt like I had been with him forever! He had told me he was a marine and lived in SC and I thought of course, you would live 700 miles away from me, but to my surprise he called me three days later. We spoke everyday and visited each other at least once every two months. A year had pasted and I decided to move from Ny to SC. We stayed there for three yrs. He got out of the military and tried to find a Job but there was nothing out there, in the meantime two months out of the service I had gotten pregnant, we were in a little dilemma but we were so excited because we knew we want to get married an have a family one day, it just came a little sooner then planned, after I had the baby (my pride an joy) we thought it was best to move where are families at in NJ and so we did. Now it’s almost two later and he’s going to college and we are still engaged. I would love to have that fairy tale wedding as our ending to our love story

Eric and I both met in the summer of 2004 on a blind date and we instantly fell in love. One morning Eric called me and said he was having a bad morning and asked if i loved him. I told him of course and he hung up on me. I was walking to my office at work and Eric called me and said turn around. As i turned around he was down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. He has been there for me through all my struggles and has truly been one of a kind. I recently got diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrom and may not be able to have kids and he has stayed by my side through everything. My fiane Jeremy and I met through my older brother when I was pretty young. I always had a crush on him and he of course would not give me the time of day because I was his friends “little sister”. I always dreamed that one day he would give me a chance, and finally in 2007 with MUCH pursuasion, he did. We have been inseperable ever since. He is my best friend in the whole world! We meet back in 2004 in middle school, in 2005 we started dating and ever since we have been together, we recently celebrated our 6 year anniversary. We got married last year just by civil we already wanted to be together but couldn’t have a wedding. Me & My Fiance met online & when we first saw each other it was love at first sight we have been through so much from dealing with a friends death to a fathers 2 open heart surgerys we were planning on getting married June 2 2012 but we have had so much more piled on us we had to move out & get a new place & then our car broke down & had to get a new one so I’m trying to get all the help I can or I might have to postpone my wedding

My husband and I met in Iraq 2005. 8 months after our redeployment back home we were married in 2007. We never had a wedding or anything special because my husband was deploying again shortly after. Every anniversary Ive either been pregnant or he’s been deployed. But every deployment he always found a way to be home for our anniversary. I would rather spend that short time with just him at home instead of planning a wedding being we also have 2 children. Our 5 yr anniversary is coming up April 25th and I would really LOVE to have a wedding and renew our vows. I never got the fairy tale wedding or a wedding at all so thats why I feel that, even though we are already married, we deserve to win the fairy tale wedding.

With almost eight months to go, and tons of wedding planning ahead, I find that the stress and finances of our May wedding crumbling upon us. My fiancé John and I both come from middle class families and my parents are helping us pay for the wedding. Even though I have the most simple taste, I have tried to opt out of flowers, a veil, my wedding band, and trying to cut corners anywhere I can. Planning a simple, affordable wedding is not as easy as I thought, especially when my fiancés family has not been able to help out at all because of his fathers cancer. They would love to help, but financially it has become a another financial burden and they have yet to be able to help pay for anything. Even though John and I live comfortably, we have slowly but surely realized these next couple of months we are going to have to scrimp as much as we can afford to.
We deserve to win because we’re two, hard working middle class young kids who have a dream of pulling this wedding off without financially killing our parents, as well as ourselves. We’ve been through a lot these past three and a half years, financially and emotionally, but I believe this wedding will be worth every penny.
