Anna Faris: You Have to Accept That People May Think You’re Stupid
“I was willing to do anything,” Anna said of landing the role of dumb bimbo Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie franchise. “I was just so malleable. I was like, I gotta be brave and tough, even if it means getting sprayed to the ceiling by my high school boyfriend.”
Anna knows that she has become a target for casting directors looking for that girl who is clueless yet incredibly sexy.
“You have to be willing to accept the idea that people may think you’re stupid,” admitted Anna.
Anna’s latest film What’s Your Number? premieres on September 30. In the film, Anna plays a hard-partying 30-something who freaks out after reading in (ironically enough) Marie Claire that a woman’s chances of landing a husband plummet if she’s had more than 20 partners.
Regardless of her comfortability with playing the sexually naive bombshell, Anna knows that, since she’s turning 35 in two months, she won’t be able to play that role much longer. Her solution? Form a Judd Apatow-esque posse of female actors!
“I would just love to be able to find young female talent and be like, ‘This person is amazing. I want to support her, and I want to take credit for discovering her.'”
