He may have missed this year’s Emmy Awards, but actor Alec Baldwin  still has plenty to celebrate. After already hosting Saturday Night Live 15 times (making him tied with comedic legend and his 2010 Academy Awards cohost Steve Martin), but Baldwin is now set to break the show’s hosting record when he returns to SNL on Sept. 24.

The 30 Rock star has become such a comedic staple on the sketch show that he even has his own Best Of DVD collection with his funny SNL moments, an honor that is rarely bestowed upon non cast members. In fact, one of his now classic skits from SNL where he plays Pete Schweddy titled “Schweddy Balls”, has been immortalized by ice cream makers, Ben & Jerry’s, who have released their ice cream by the same name, just in time for the holidays.

The 37th season of Saturday Night Live kicks off  with Alec as the host, and what better way for us to celebrate than with a few of his best SNL moments. What is your fave SNL skit that the actor’s done? Let us know in the comments!

In perhaps his most famous skit from 1998, Alec debuts his character Pete Schweddy, and offers up his holiday treats of choice.

In May 2010, Alec was going for his 15th show, thus tying record holder Steve Martin. Let’s just say Steve isn’t letting it go down without a fight… or attempted murder.

In this skit, the Brasky buddies continue their tradition of meeting up at a public place to drink scotch and discuss a coworker by the name of Bill Brasky. This was one of six Brasky skits that aired.

Alec shows his angrier side as kid’s swim coach Rooney. The blonde wig adds a nice touch as he talks down to the kids at their awards banquet.

Did you know there was a fourth Jonas brother by the name of Gary Jonas? There isn’t, but  Alec plays the oldest Jonas in this hilarious clip.

And as a bonus, check out Alec’s latest promo for this weekend’s SNL

Also, no Alec Baldwin SNL moments list would be complete without Canteen Boy, also starring Adam Sandler!
