They boy band perform for fans in LA.
Every year Nickelodeon blacks out their network and urges kids to go outside to play, so the Big Time Rush boys were all geared up for Nickelodeon’s 8th annual Worldwide Day of Play held at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.

James, Logan, Kendall and Carlos, along with the rest of the Nick stars, all participated in an intense six team obstacle course which involved the signature pool of slime. They had the edge when they all participated  because they were all super active when they were younger. (Besides their undeniable singing and acting talents, the boys all participated in sports while they were growing up. From BMX to soccer, these hotties have always had a competitive streak.)

Of course all the boys couldn’t be on the same team, so Kendall joined Team Green, James represented for the Team Black and Kendall was a proud member of Team Green. Carlos’ hockey and lacrosse experience gave him the upper hand as he and the rest of Team Blue (which included Supah Ninjas’ Ryan Potter, iCarly’s Jennette McCurdy and Victorious’ Matt Bennett) took home the coveted gold medal. The former musical theater major couldn’t help and contain his enthusiasm as he tweeted:

“Go blue!!!! Can’t believe we won!!!!!”

Besides working up a sweat on the obstacle course, BTR also brought the heat as they performed their infectious tunes to a humongous crowd. The heartthrobs made thousands of girls squeal as they sang “Famous” and their hit single “Boyfriend”. Watch below as they sang “Big Time” in front of 50,000 fans!

Now that the year’s coming to an end, what’s a better stocking stuffer than a new BTR cd? While Kendall wouldn’t mind bringing in the Christmas spirit with a rendition of “Chesnuts Roasting on an Open Fire”, Carlos spills a little bit about the highly anticipated release:

“Tons of collaborations. We can’t say much, but I will say that we wrote more than half of the album. So we’re super excited.”

Carlos couldn’t elaborate on which artists they’d be collaborating with, but twenty-one-year-old James did reveal what hip hop stars he wouldn’t mind sharing a track with:

“You know honestly, I love Pitbull, I think he’d be an awesome collaboration. Or honestly a female artist. Fergie. Just throwing that out there.”

Hmm… a BTR song feautring Mr. 305 or Fergie? We certainly don’t mind that. For now, check out Big Time Rush’s first single “If I Ruled The World” off of their second album slated to drop on November 15!
