Nancy Grace: I’m Just Trying to ‘Hang in There’ With ‘Young and Skinny’ Competition
“It is disconcerting to tell you the truth,” Grace said. “Being on the other side, getting interviewed. I’m used to asking all the questions!”
“I’m trying to get my mind off the cha-cha and onto the quick step,” Nancy said about what we can expect on DWTS tonight. “Boy, it is quick. Operative word quick.”
“Of course, I’m the kind of person that goes back and analyzes every single mistake, everything I did right, wrong, in an effort to make it better the next time if I get that chance,” Grace said looking back at week one. “So yeah, I have got to change my mindset for this next dance.”
As for what we can expect Monday (and yes, Nancy gave a little demonstration):
“There is a step that Tristan is yelling in my ear the whole time. This is the step and you won’t believe it. It’s: side-together, side-together, flick, run, run, run, run, jump-ball change, and then slide. That is a step! Then you erupt into jumping jacks. I’m not kidding. I’m thinking ‘dear God.’”
Ron Artest, er Metta World Peace, was eliminated last week and Nancy told us she was not expecting that.
“Yes, Artest really surprised me,” Grace said, adding he is also to blame for her first Dancing injury. “I actually skinned my knee trying to learn that hip thrusting move. You know, when he got down on his knees and pelvic thrusted forward on the floor? I’ve been doing that at HLN and at home. But I can now do it.”
Who is Nancy eying as her main competition? Well, everyone:
“Hello. Professional athlete, soap star, reality star, movie star, TV star, and they are all young and skinny, and then there is me. So you know what, I’m just going to try and hang in there.”
