First Look! 'Avengers' Cast Covers Entertainment Weekly

All the superheroes are joining forces on May 4, 2012, but until then Entertainment Weekly (on newsstands Sept. 30) has your first look of the comic book stars in their Avengers costumes. 

The film unites Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Mark Ruffalo’s The Incredible Hulk, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. Renner told EW of the characters: 

“Just because they’re super heroes doesn’t mean they’re super friends."

This movie is sure to be full of surprises with writer-director Joss Whedon admitting to the magazine: 

“There is a weird element of: they handed me one of the biggest movies of all time, and I’m making it up as I go.”
