"Life comes at you pretty fast."

No kidding! It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since America’s favorite slacker took his legendary day off that made him an icon of 80’s teen movies. Believe it or not, this weekend marks the 25th anniversary of the John Hughes classic, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

With celebrations at Wrigley Field set to go underway and rumors of a possible sequel circulating, Celebuzz has taken a shot at recasting this John Hughes classic with some of today’s hottest stars, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Do you think this cast could live up to the original gang and do what most of us only dream of? Tell us in the comments below!

You want my picks? Nobody! I pick Nobody! Where do I state that I'm getting sick and tired of great, classic movies (and TV, for that matter) of any era being redone by some hack writer/director who thinks he has the inside track to improve on what another writer or director did? This is not Shakespeare, where everyone gets a shot at it. Leave it alone! DON'T EVEN THINK IT!!!

They're all too old, except Chloe Moretz who is far too young.

"Ferris you're my hero!" No remake necessary nor possible. Other than a little updating to include a nod to the FB generation this is a timeless piece. And how could you ever recapture the pure joy of the parade scene? Ferris (as played by Matthew Broderick) is a classic cinema character like Bogart's Sam Spade, Garland's Dorthy, or Brando's don Corleone. I agree that all of the actors mentioned inthe story are way too old. Hell Broderick could probably still play Ferris for all that that matters ;-)

I would love it if they did a sequel or a remake. I know it will never be the same as the original but it would be fun to see that.

+1. All of the actors suggested for the main parts are way too old and completely unbelievable as teenagers. The only suggestions I liked was Melissa McCarthy as Grace. I hope a remake is never a reality, it's bad enough they're remaking Dirty Dancing.

    oh! Paul Dano as Cameron.

All of those people are way too old. You need people who can play believable teenagers. I like Anton Yelchin as Ferris, Rooney Mara or Elizabeth Olsen as Sloane, and maybe an unknown for Cameron. I like Jay Baruchel but he's 30. And James Franco as Charlie Sheen's character.

Some movies should remain untouched and this is one of them. Anyway, as much I love JGL he is WAY too old to play that role.

Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Ricky Gervais, Simon Pegg, Eddie Izzard, Rowan Atkinson, Jack Black, Rob Schneider, Jeremy Piven, Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, Alec Baldwin, John Goodman, George Lopez or Steve Coogan as Edward R. Rooney

Rachel Bilson, Miley Cyrus or Ellen Page as Jeanie Bueller

  • Reigert

I thought that Mia Sara had a promising career ahead of her and that she would do mainstream movies and reach the A-list but she just disappeared, basically fell off the radar and has done little to nothing ever since.

Mischa Barton, Sophia Bush, Kat Dennings, Hilary Duff, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester or Emma Roberts as Sloane Peterson

It is unfortunate that Alan Ruck did not become a bigger star. He has done some great movies in his time and had a memorable role on Spin City.

Adam Brody, Emile Hirsch or Michael Cera as Cameron Frye

Shia LaBeouf, Anton Yelchin, Zac Efron, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley or Chace Crawford as Ferris Bueller

Whenever they do this, I just get angry for some reason. At least try to come up with actors who realistically fit the part.

He's 30 years old, but if her were younger I could definitely see it.

Omg. Way to ruin a classic. Love JGL but this is going too far. Leave this amazing film alone!
