Elizabeth Olsen Intense on Screen, 'Lighthearted' in Person
Elizabeth Olsen received the Calvin Klein Collection Emerging Star Spotlight Award Monday night at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards, and the gorgeous young star naturally was dressed in a sleek floor-length Calvin Klein dress.
Olsen has been on Hollywood's radar big time since Sundance last year when Martha Marcy May Marlene first debuted. We checked out the movie last weekend and can tell you Elizabeth, or Lizzie as friends call her, is worth the hype. She gave a truly amazing performance.
Despite the very intense nature of the flick, Olsen told us last night she really is a goofball in real life:
"I'm a very lighthearted person by nature," Lizzie told us. "I definitely had to embrace that while shooting [Martha Marcy]. I would go crazy if at the end of the day filming I wasn't able to somewhat separate the two."
Olsen's costar John Hawkes presented the award to her and the two shared a special moment on stage. Elizabeth was surrounded by women she admired Monday night, specifically one other nominee:
"I'm in awe of Barbra Streisand, and Michelle Pfeiffer is one of the reasons I wanted to become an actress," Olsen said. "Her in 'The Fabulous Baker Boys,' so this is really special."
Expect big things from this Olsen sister! Check out the trailer for Martha Marcy May Marlene below.
