Christmas is coming a little early, Gleeks! After weeks of rumors, Chord Overstreet has officially signed on to reprise his role as Sam Evans in Glee for several upcoming episodes, Fox confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

“We love Chord and have always said that we wanted him back,” Glee creator Ryan Murphy said in a statement. “So here's an early Christmas present for all the Gleeks—Sam is coming back to McKinley, and just in time for sectionals!”

The actor left the series last season. On the show, his character moved out of state after his father lost his job.

Chord told THR that he couldn't be happier about returning to the hit Fox series. "I had the best time on Glee and couldn't be more excited to be returning,” he said.

“I had the best time on Glee and couldn’t be more excited to be returning.” Translation: “I couldn’t get another job so I came back.”
