Liam Hemsworth’s Brother Chris Inspired Him to Trim Down for ‘Hunger Games’ Role

'Hunger' vs. 'Twilight'
How the two series are different, but very similar.
We all know that Liam Hemsworth is a pretty fit guy, but he recently revealed to Vanity Fair that his brother Chris was the one who really encouraged him to drop some serious lbs. for his role in Hunger Games.

In an interview with the magazine, the Australian actor (who is dating Miley Cyrus) revealed that a converastion with his bro (who played Thor in this summer’s blockbuster hit) said something that really resonated with him:

Liam told the interviewer: “In this one, for me, it was more about losing weight. He’s a pretty poor person.” To which he then added:

“Everyone’s pretty hungry, so I wanted to look a little hungry. [My] brother said to me before I started shooting — he texted me and said something about me putting on weight. But basically his point was that it was called Hunger Games, not Eating Games. That was a wake-up call. I was like, Are you calling me fat or something?”

He also poked a bit of fun at his buff brother, (who seriously bulked up to play the superhero Thor):

“Yup, yup. He got big. He’s a freak.”

Aw, brotherly love.

Hunger Games, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, and if you haven’t got into the Games yet, here’s the film’s official synopsis: “Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which ‘Tributes’ must fight with one another until one survivor remains.”

It hits theaters on March 23. Are you excited? Let us know in the comments!
