In this newly released photo from the highly-anticipated Hunger Games film, heroine Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is shown loading up her trusty bow and arrow. While we all know that hunting (in the arena at least) is the last thing she wants to do, she knows what needs to get done in order to protect her loved ones.

If you aren’t familiar with author Suzanne Collins’ popular book series turned (more than likely) blockbuster, let us catch you up to speed:

The film’s synopsis reads:

“Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which ‘Tributes’ must fight with one another until one survivor remains.”

While many have been comparing this to Twilight, Lionsgate (who is releasing this film) is hoping it will be as profitable.

With a $80 million budget for the first Hunger Games film, according to the Business Insider, the studio is hoping to make around $200 to $700 million for the first film. It’s also being reported that they would at least need to make $100 million to justify a sequel. (There are three books in the series: Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay, with the novels some how being broken into four films).
