Kanye West Dedicates Victoria's Secret Performance to His Mom (PHOTOS)
Kanye West wore his heart on his sleeve as he geared up for his Victoria's Secret performance on Wednesday night in New York. The rapper, who was set to sing four years ago but backed out due to the sudden death of his mother, Donda West, took a moment to remember her as the audience fell silent.
"In 2007, I was supposed to perform this song...then my mom passed away. She was my superhero—now she's my superangel," Kanye said before jumping into "Stronger." The crowd, which included Miranda Kerr's hubby Orlando Bloom, rocked out to his performance -- but Kanye had one more surprise for the audience.
The crowd roared as Kanye asked "big bro" Jay-Z to join him on stage! The rappers performed a duet from their Watch the Throne album. Beyonce sat front row flaunting her baby bump (and supporting her man), wearing a flowing white gown.
Aside from the sexy Victoria's Secret angels strutting down the runway, the big night included performances from Maroon 5 and Nicki Minaj. The event drew celebrities such as LaLa Anthony, Tyson Beckford, Cuba Gooding Jr., Russell Simmons.
Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima and all the other Secret girls, showed a whole lot of skin, and very little clothing — which will surely make for one massive television special once it airs on CBS November 29. Check out photos from the show.
