Box Office Battle: ‘The Muppets’ vs. ‘Hugo’ (POLL)
On this Thanksgiving weekend, there isn't a better way to celebrate than with some good old fashioned, family-friendly flicks.
With The Muppets and Hugo opening up this weekend, these movies no doubt have holiday fun written all over them!
Who can forget adorable Kermit the Frog and the diva-esque Miss Piggy from the beloved Muppets TV series and spinoffs? In the franchise's first theatrical release in over 12 years, The Muppets starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams rekindles Kermit, Gonzo the Great, Fozzie Bear and the whole gang with loyal fans and introduces the characters to a brand new generation of fans.
In the film, oil is found underneath the Muppet Theater and an oilman (played by Chris Cooper) is hatching a plan to demolish it unless Gary and Mary (Segel and Adams) raise $10 million to save the theater.
Debuting this weekend is legendary director Martin Scorsese's first 3D film, Hugo about young boy named Hugo who ends up as an orphan living a secret life in walls of a Paris train station. When Hugo encounters a broken automaton, an eccentric girl (Chloe Moretz), and the cold man (Sacha Baron Cohen) who runs the city's toy shop, he is in for a mysterious yet fantastic adventure.
Garnering lots of Oscar buzz and also opening this week is My Week With Marilyn, starring Michelle Williams in a standout performance as the infamous Marilyn Monroe. Check out the trailer below:
