'Breaking Dawn' Wedding Dress Designer Wanted to 'Please the Bride' (VIDEO)

It's has 152 beautiful buttons down the back, and it was designer Carolina Herrera that saw all of them essential when creating Bella Swan's wedding dress for the fall box office hit The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1

In a recent interview, Carolina said she wanted the dress to have "simple lines but with one extravagant detail in the back of the dress." She referred to the style as "traditional" yet "seductive."

So how did designing a wedding gown for a fictional character differ from how she treats her actual brides?

"I usually treat my brides in the same way," Carolina admitted. "They have to be very special. ... This one, of course, is totally different at the end. ... You have to realize that millions of people are going to watch it and it had to be very precise."

As we all the know, the wedding of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) was the most highly anticipated fictional wedding of the year. That could put a bit of pressure on the dress designer! "It had to be going very much with the story of the film which is fascinating. ... But I wanted to please the bride because the bride is the most important for this scene."

She continued, "I worked very specific for that." What did you think of Bella's wedding gown: yay or nay? Play fashion critic in the comments!

Carolina did a perfect job. First off her designs for bridal wear are always lovely. I think that coupling her fantastic design sense and imagination with the story line, the dress was able to be used as a key part in the story as well. It opened us up to see a new side of Bella, a softer more femenine side that showed she does enjoy a traditional bit but then she always has her own way with things. The dress was amazing on her. The only think I would change about this dress if I were to buy it for myself (eager to be married, yes!) is that I wouldn't have as many seams going across my chest in the front - it distracted me a bit from the rest of her to see the crisscossing of the lines. That's all. Overall: amazing dress, fits perfect with story, and where can I buy it NOW!? :)

I thought the dress was perfect for Bella. It was simple with a subtle extravagant undertone. It was beautiful and actually a dress I would want for my own wedding. So many movie weddings have over-the-top, unrealistic gowns and are usually more "risque" sotaspeak. This was more subtly seductive with a conservative front and sleeves contrasted perfectly with the revealing back. I thought it was absolutely beautiful and just perfect.

I thought the dress was beautiful. It was timeless and fit in perfectly with Edwards erra. The detail and design was very sweet and romantic. It fitt Bella's charector so well because she is so simple. :-)

I loved the back and the neckline but the front, with the conical chest, was too star wars or futuristic.
