Peter, I've written this post over and over, trying to find a way to say something without sounding like a shrew. Been a fan since Fast Lane by the way. So I'm just going to throw this out there for those of us who lives have been so emotionally and financially destroyed by mental illness, it's important that celebrities take this as seriously as they do their own causes, i.e. childhood cancers. Your Twitter bio statement is not only incorrect but flippant about schizophrenia. Your statement is actually referring to DID (Dissociative identity disorder), f/k/a multiple personality and split personality, not schizophrenia. But be that as it may, as the mother of a schizophrenic, I have been trying to get you to change it for months, without success. Please, for those of us who struggle everyday with a sick family member, please join with me and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) as we fight the negative representations and adverse attitudes to mental illness by educating yourself and supporting our cause on social media like Twitter. Just for a start, please rethink your Twitter bio. Thank you.
