Beyonce Gives Birth to Baby Girl Named Blue Ivy: Reports
Once again birth rumors for Beyonce and Jay-Z are swirling, and this time they seem to have a little bit more weight behind them thanks to a handful of congratulatory tweets from friends.
Several media outlets are reporting that Beyonce gave birth on Saturday night to her first child, a daughter reportedly named Blue Ivy Carter -- taking the last name of B's hubby, Sean Carter.
Though the couple has yet to officially announce the news, E! News' Ken Baker had several sources confirming it, and Russell Simmons even took to Twitter to say "Congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z" about the possible news. Even Rihanna alluded to the birth, tweeting: "Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih."
Beyonce reportedly checked into Lenox Hill Hospital on New York's Upper East Side on Friday, under the name “Ingrid Jackson,” a hospital staffer told the NY Daily News, adding that she and hubby Jay-Z rented out the hospital’s entire fourth floor for $1.3 million!
Although initial reports said the baby's name was "Ivy Blue", Beyonce's BFF Gwyneth Paltrow, took to Twitter, clearing up the confusion, saying, "It's Blue Ivy Carter!"
In late December, birth rumors also hit the web stating that Beyonce gave birth to a girl and that her name was Tiana, though those rumors didn't pan out.
B broke the big news at the 2011 VMAs in August, as she sported a bright tangerine dress, and carressed her growing baby bump as hundreds of photogs snapped away. This is the first child for the couple, who tied the knot in April of 2008, after about six years of dating.
