Katy Perry Talks About Her Divorce: ‘No One Speaks for Me’

Russell Brand opens up after splitting from Katy Perry.
Katy Perry is finally addressing those pesky rumors behind her divorce from Russell Brand.

On Saturday, the “Teenage Dream” songstress took it to her personal Twitter to clear the air for fans. Katy tweeted to her followers, “Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, “close sources” or my family.”

Could this message be directed towards her parents?

Just a few days ago, Katy’s parents, Mary and Keith Hudson, addressed their daughter’s divorce from the British comedian. According to the NY Post, Perry’s parents told their congregation that “they believed Perry’s split was God’s way of bringing people to church” during a service at their evangelical church.

Katy’s mother added:

“I’m sure that Katy’s trending on the Internet was to get you here to church tonight. I mean all over the world, who knows how God is bringing them in? The most important thing is you are here and God wants to put the fire in you in 2012.”

Last night, Katy also thanked fans for their unconditional support through this tough time, saying:

I am so grateful for all the love and support I’ve had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again.

Russell had also spoke out about Katy since the split. When the funnyman filed for divorce on December 30, he said in a statement to People:

“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”

The couple began dating in 2009 and Brand popped the question four months later. The duo married in October 2010 in a lavish ceremony in northern India.
