Branding Expert: Katy Perry Made Right Decision Not Attending People’s Choice Awards
"Teenage Dream" singer Katy Perry announced to her fans on Monday via Twitter that despite her seven nominations at this year’s People’s Choice Awards she will not be in attendance.
This would have been Katy’s first public appearance post-split from her husband of 14 months Russell Brand, who filed for divorce from her right before New Year's.
Image and branding expert Dan Schawbel tells Celebuzz the pop princess made the right choice by backing out of the awards show.
"Katy made the right move not going, even though she was nominated for seven awards, because she is undergoing personal issues right now and they would be exposed if she attended."Was breaking the news to fans via her Twitter account the right move?
"It was a classy move for her to tell her fans that she wouldn't be attending on Twitter and they should respect her private life. She doesn't want the end of her marriage getting in the way of her success. The media would be talking about the divorce more than her nominations, which doesn't sit well with her," Dan added.Do you think Katy made the right choice by bailing on the People's Choice?
