Trend Spotting: A-List Men Step Out in Three-Piece Suits (PHOTOS)

Now that award season has arrived, viewers are ready to ooh and ahh at the women of the red carpet. It's their time to shine and everyone wants to know who they're wearing from head to toe. 

As much as we can enjoy a beautiful gown, what about the men? They usually dawn these plain, black suits that we've seen a million times. 

Why rock a plain, two-piece suit when you can look hot in a bold, three-piece suit! It's still your basic getup, just with an extra piece (a vest) and it adds an extra edge. Click the pics and see what we mean! 

Once a staple for an actor like Clark Gable, the three-piece style suit is coming back. 

Shows like Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire have embraced the look being it's fitting for the time periods. Even CBS' The Mentalist features a main character, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker), who can most likely be found in the look. 

Celebs including Justin Timberlake, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jay-Z, Twilight actor Jackson Rathbone, Will Smith, and Brad Pitt have also all rocked the sexy look. 

 Boardwalk Empire star Michael Pitt even has a soft spot for the '20s and '30s trend telling Celebuzz this past year, "Certainly the three-piece suit has got to come back. Once you put that suit on… For me, I’ve never been into fashion but when I put on that three-piece suit, I got into it."

Three-piece suits can definintly spice up any mans wardrobe even if it isn't for a movie premiere or award show. It's one of those outfits that can never go out of style. What's your take on three-piece suits? Leave your comments below.
