Welcome back to Celebuzz’s 100 Days of Hunger Games countdown. Today we bring you another installment of our A-Z Encyclopedia. We’re diving into the heart of the book with all the awesome oddities and lingo of the Hunger Games. So what’s up this week? Avox.

An Avox is described as a person who has their tongues cut out as punishment for rebelling against the Capitol. In the book, Katniss’ past comes back to haunt her when she recognizes an Avox while staying in the Capitol before the 74th Hunger Games.

There has been a lot of buzz about how the Avox will be portrayed on screen with fans submitting drawings and short films about the silent characters. Watch the video above to learn more.
