Katy Perry Heading to Vegas to Host 1 Oak ‘GiveLove’ Event
The show must go on!
After backing out of the People’s Choice Awards earlier this month, Katy Perry is ready to finally make her first U.S. public appearance since splitting with Russell Brand. The “Waking Up in Vegas” singer will co-host a special GiveLove charity event on January 27 at hotspot 1 OAK Las Vegas at The Mirage.
Although Katy isn’t set to do any interviews or press, a source close to the singer revealed this event was planned a long time ago, but Katy couldn’t bare missing an event that she holds so dear to her heart. “This event was in the works before the divorce, but she wouldn’t miss this one,” the source told Celebuzz.
She’ll be joined by J. Molinari jewelry designers Markus Molinari and Jason Arasheben and recording artist, Ferras, who will give a special performance on behalf of the charity that develops temporary housing solutions and improved sanitation systems in Haiti.
“Markus Molinari & Katy Perry are best friends, coming together to bring awareness to an amazing cause GiveLove.org,” Eli Pacino, managing partner of 1 OAK Las Vegas told Celebuzz.
The songstress seems to be moving on just fine since the divorce filing. Over the weekend, she was spotted in good spirits as she promoted her perfume, Purr, in the Philippines. Katy was all smiles as she greeted fans and local celebrities at the event.
The singer also reportedly removed her ex-husband from her list of Twitter followers this week.
“She’s limiting those interactions,” a source told Us Weekly. ”He’s being so atrocious that she feels like she never really knew him.”
