Nick Carter Dedicates Song to Sister Leslie At NYC Concert (PHOTOS)
Nick Carter resumed his tour just two days after his sister Leslie Carter‘s death. The Backstreet Boy hit the stage at Irving Plaza in NYC on Thursday, Feb. 2, and dedicated his song “Falling Down” to his sister.
“I’ve never done this before and I never thought I’d ever have to, but I’d like to dedicate this song to my sister,” Nick said to the crowd.
Girls in the audience held up pink paper hearts in memory of Leslie and Nick acknowledged the female fans’ thoughtfulness during his set. Why did Nick decide the show must go on in wake of Leslie’s passing?
“Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform,” a rep for Nick said in a statement on Wednesday.
The toxicology test on Leslie will take weeks to come back but the incident report has indicated that Leslie was under the influence of many prescription drugs at the time of her death.

I suspect he has been in shock the first couple of days and it may just be really hitting him. Audience members said he fell down sobbing offstage right after the above performance. It’s no wonder he didn’t make the GMA interview this morning. He’s a real trooper trying to honor his performance obligations, but true fans will understand if he needs to take some time. If not—there’ll more hearts in more audiences…….
