Nick Carter Plans to Take Time Off Following Sister's Death
Nick Carter is planning to take a long hiatus following the death of his sister, aspiring songstress Leslie Carter. A source spilled to TMZ that the former Backstreet Boy member plans to finish up his remaining two tour dates before breaking to focus on his family life.
Recently, Nick made headline news when it was discovered that the singer did not attend his sister's funeral in New York City. In an official statement, Nick explained his situation:
“I wanted to be at my sister’s funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic. I love my family. I want to thank everyone for all of their compassion and support that I have received during this most difficult time. There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister. I am trying to stay healthy, positive and focused."
Leslie Carter passed away on January 31 from an apparent overdose of prescription pills. According to People, her funeral was attended by family members including Nick's younger brother Aaron. She leaves behind her widow Mike Ashton and her newborn daughter.
