Katy Perry Belts Russell Brand Tune 'Part of Me' at 2012 Grammy Awards (VIDEO)

Wearing a cleavage-baring outfit, Katy Perry hit the stage at the 2012 Grammy Award initially belting her hit single, "E.T." But the tune abruptly stopped, giving way to her brand new hit "Part of Me," which appears to be about her estranged husband, Russell Brand.

The song is about a romance gone terribly wrong:

"You're not gonna break my soul. This is the part of me that you're never gonna ever take away from me, no... I just wanna throw my phone away. Find out who is really there for me 'cause you ripped me off. Your love was cheap, was always tearing at the seams. I fell deep and you let me drown. But that was then and this is now."

The lyrics continue:

"You can kick the diamond ring. It don't mean anything anyway."
What did you think about  Katy's new song? Do you think it was about Russell?  Sound off in the comments and watch her 2012 Grammy performance above.

Thought it was pathetic and immature... not the time, nor the place!

I thought her new song was fabuous and I can identify how she is feeling. Yes it's about giving trust and love to someone who crumbled it in their hands without blinking.

This song was recorded with Teenage Dream. It has been circulating the internet for probably over half a year now. This song was probably written about her last relationship with Travis from Gym Class Heroes. It is and has been my favorite song of hers since I first heard it eight months ago. Can't wait to get the re-release of Teenage Dream, and look forward to Katy's future.

Good for Katy, she is such a strong woman and Russell really did her wrong apparently! I love Katy!
