Chris Brown may have received a Grammy Sunday but he certainly did not get chummy with country crooner and fellow award winner Miranda Lambert.

Last week's ceremony marked the three year anniversary of when Brown assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna and, following his win, the singer went on a Twitter rampage in which he told naysayers to "F--k off." Miranda, who was a guest at this year's awards, did not take Chris' cocky attitude lightly. She tweeted:

Not cool that we act like that didn't happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.
She also added:
How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was? Strange. And Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl...
Recently, Miranda called out Chris at one of her concerts. Holding up a fanmade sign that read "Take notes Chris Brown," Miranda addressed the her thoughts on the whole situation.

"Did y'all get a look now. Get a good picture, put it on Twitter. I've been in a world of hurt with Chris Brown fans lately," she told fans. "But see, I just have to speak my mind because where I come from beating up on a woman is never okay."

Are you basically saying that if issues like this doesn't affect you directly then we shouldn't take abut it, and that this criticism is just "insane hate"? Yes, let's ignore everything horrible in this world, I'm sure that will make it go away. I'll shut up about it when people stop defending him and abusers like him.

no-one is telling you how to react to this situation, what makes you think people never cared about what he did because the matter of fact is that people do.yes we all have the right to voice our opinions but its the fact that celebrities think it is normal to voice them on twitter,if they have a problem with someone they should tell it to the persons face instead of hiding behind the internet. (some women can be just as violent towards men but if it was vice versa and rihanna had beat up chris, this would not be the response people would have had.)

The hate I have is more so for people who keep telling me how to react to this situation. You have no idea how this kind of thing impacts other people, who have maybe been victims before. I have every right to voice my opinion on this, just as Miranda Lambert did. I don't really care if you or anyone else thinks I'm a hater.

It's her situation so she has every right to want people to respect her decision for not mentioning the abuse. I'm not against talking about domestic violence in general. I agree it is important to talk about what women AND men go through. However, personal cases as sensitive as this is to the victim, which is Rihanna and NOT anyone else, needs to be treated as such..sensitive. Not filled with hate and bitterness.. what good is it doing to your life? My main focus is on Rihanna and what helps her continue with life but i have to say this...you keep asking how do people know how Rihanna feels well there's a quote from her twitter right there from her. How do YOU know how sorry Chris is? Has he said he is not? If he did publicly do something like support domestic abuse groups to prove how sorry he is will people think he's faking his sincerity? I think so. The bottom line is no matter what he does he'll be slaughtered so the only logical thing to do is to move on. . And FYI, of course publicly working with him means a lot. Like I've said it's a sign of moving on. Its just sad how she realizes this and others don't.

  • Lo

You should get a therapist. We get what he did was horrible but last time I checked, you weren't the victim. If it bothers you so much just ignore his existence like he has yours because all the hate you have is just insane...

  • Lo
    Lo

Read the magazines. She doesn't want to talk about it because it's a horrible memory but she herself has said the it's annoying that people keep bringing it up but that she's forgiven him and moved on with her life. Personally I think the situation is horrible but they've both moved on with their lives and he hasn't hit another woman since then. Constantly bringing up the past doesn't help anyone. Especially when it doesn't involve you or anyone around you. Leave the boy alone, he's trying and it looks like its working. However he should get anger management, he needs to learn to control that mess.

  • Madeleine

This whole situation makes me sick. Chris Brown can get a second chance, sure. I'm glad he hasn't beaten up any other girlfriends (probably because no one will date him now). But has he earned that second chance? Has he truly shown remorse for his actions? NO. He "apologized" the way every star apologizes; through their agents. He did his legal punishment. But that's it. No talking about it, no effort to stand up against violence against women. Anytime the subject is brought up (3 years is not that long ago!) he dismisses it, says it's "not really important to him right now". Well fuck you Chris, it should be important. Part of what happens when you do something so horrible as beating your girlfriend is you have to fucking talk about it for the rest of your life. My problem with people is that they forgave him way too easily. The fact that he has talent is completely irrelevant to the kind of person he has shown himself to be (not just with hitting Rihanna, but other angry outbursts, and displays of violence). Jesus Christ people, just because you like his fucking music does not mean he gets a free pass!! If Rihanna were your mother, or sister, or best friend, and she got beaten up, would you forgive the asshole because he sold a bunch of records? Him winning a Grammy does not show people have forgiven him, it showed people never fucking cared, and that's sad. I'm fucking sick and tired of people pretending we shouldn't talk about it for Rihanna's sake. I agree SHE doesn't need to re-live the past, but for Christ's sake there are some really important issues here we as society need to address, so yeah, I'm gonna fucking well keep talking about it. And to everyone saying "we all make mistakes". Yes, we do. I'm not perfect. My boyfriend isn't perfect. But neither of us has ever fucked up so bad we sent the other to the hospital. THAT'S A PRETTY FUCKING BIG "MISTAKE". Just for once, can we not think about how this whole thing affects Chris Brown? Can we think for once about women who suffer domestic violence, and what message this sends to them? It tells them "We feel bad for y'all, but the guy who hit you is just so great, and honestly, you need to shut up about it. He said sorry, he made a little mistake, lets get back to making him successful. You should learn to forgive him, like the rest of us did after 10 minutes".

  • Madeleine
    Madeleine

Her not wanting to talk about it just seems to me that she wants to be left alone. And that's fine, she deserves to be left alone. She doesn't need to be a spokesperson for battered women. But Chris does not deserve the same respect, because frankly he lost any shred of respect I had for him. Honestly, neither of us know how she is coping with it. Publicly working with him means jack shit. She may not want to talk about it, but it's important we keep talking about it. As a society we need to talk about it. We need to ask ourselves why we let this happen, and why we forgive so easily.

What Chris did is not ok and not right. However, people make mistakes in life and as long as they do not continue doing the same we have to learn to move on. If God were to treat us the way that many of us want to treat Chris, then all of us would be condemned. I believe he has learned from his grave mistake and has worked hard. Being young is not an excuse for his error but I believe that every young person makes different mistakes, and we have to realize that the more we put pressure on someone, the more difficult it is for them to make a positive change. Chris though should try to keep his head up and stay away from making negative comments no matter what. I know that this is hard, and naturally as a human he will want to last back. But that won't help the situation Chris. I am a big fan, you are a talented musician and an AMAZING dancer, so stick to those two things - that's what you do best!

umm have you not seen how angry rihanna reacts when asked about the situation?? Twitter? "People won't stop askin (about) it! It's f**kin (sic) annoying! Nobody wants to relive that, but some ppl (people) can't respect that! I get it, they wanna raise awareness to young girls! But it ends up just makin me look bitter, pitiful, spiteful and angry!" It's constantly being thrown in her face! He attended her birthday party. She might be collaborating music with him for goodness sake! No one is saying people should forgive or forget Chris beating her even though he obviously wants everyone to. I'm sure rihanna will NEVER forget about it but my point is she can't move on with her life unless people let her and honestly what good is it doing if it is being brought up? Nothing. Chris is still successful, rihanna still wants contact.. she's aware of what she's doing.

  • ez
    ez

when I say moved on I mean that people have not forgotten but have probably come to the realisation that he has to live with what he did for the rest of his life and for people to bring it up again three years later is unfair for Rihanna as she most likely does not want to be reminded about it what happened to her

  • ez
    ez

the fact that he won a grammy shows that people have moved on

  • hi
    hi

and how chris responded to her tweets wasn't very professional either... his rage just shows he still has anger issues. if he truly wants people to move on he needs to truly show he is sorry, and trashing a hotel room after a interview isn't the proper way.

  • Madeleine
    Madeleine

Sure, we've all made mistakes. Like hurting someone's feelings. Or being late for work. But I'd say beating up your girlfriend is more than a fucking mistake.

  • Madeleine
    Madeleine

How the fuck do either of you know that Rihanna has moved on? Do you know her? I'm not beyond forgiveness, but Chris Brown wants us to forget, and excuse me if I can't forget that you physically assaulted someone else...your girlfriend. That's never EVER OK, and we need to stop acting like it never happened and never talking about it. He deserves to be dragged through the mud for his crime, and Miranda Lambert is totally right with her response. His supporters act like it was an accident that happened, and we should just move on...he fucking beat up his girlfriend. He didn't just have a fight and call her nasty names, he HIT HER IN THE FACE. Excuse me if I can't get past that.

  • ez

what Miranda tweeted was unprofessional and unnecessary. what Chris did was wrong but there are people all over the world who are the victims of domestic abuse every day who are too scared to say anything and live there life in fear.its been three years since that incident,Rihanna has forgiven him and so should everyone else, the past is the past.Chris has had to work hard to regain his fanbase and I for one think he deserved the Grammy award he got and shows that his fans have forgiven him too

Miranda Lambert needs to sit her irrelevant ass down. I don't listen to her music and I never will because I do not like country music. Who is she to judge him?? She's a nobody anyway. People should forgive and forget. Chris has worked very hard and he deserved to perform at The Grammys and he deserved his Grammy award as well. People act like they never made a mistake and are perfect. So ya'll haters can sit the fuck down.

GO MIRANDA. She never had an affair with a married man, it was done after the separated. I don't care how many hits Chris Brown makes, he shouldn't be a star. The fact that people praise him for putting out hits, but forget his past is horrible to me. Sure, he has some catchy songs, but I don't buy them, I don't call and request them, and I damn sure don't go to any of his concerts. I don't do any of this because of the person he made himself out to be. He should have been gone and forgotten by now, but people forgive a little bit too easy these days. If it was your sister getting beat by her boyfriend, would you forgive him because he bought her candy and flowers for her Valentines day? Hell no.

  • Mellisa
    Mellisa

Ummm people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Miranda had an affair with a married man and nobody called her out. She should stay out of other peoples business.

  • livesinafairytale

I think the point of it is that Chris shouldn't be able to walk back into the Grammys -- the place where he beat his girlfriend and told her he would kill her -- & have it be treated like it was no big deal. The entire situation was disturbing injustice in more ways that I can count. I will never support the decision to not put this man in jail just because he has high power & money. I will never support Chris Brown again, or even respect him. And whether or not Rihanna has forgiven him doesn't change the fact he was aloud to perform at the Grammys. I respect you if you decide to support Chris Brown, even though I'll never see why, but I hate people who go around calling me/others who believe the same on this subject ignorant because we haven't "forgiven" Chris for this, or try to shove the idea of Chris down our throats and try to make me like him. I like that Miranda had the nerve to say something about this, and I agree with her.

  • bev1314
    bev1314

Completely agree. Violence is never the answer to anything but when you've hurt someone and the victim has moved on from it surely it should not be constantly brought up again and again. I'm sure everyone's been angry by his actions but he needs to move on with his life. Most importantly, Rihanna clearly wants to forget but how can she when people like Miranda won't shut up

  • meh
    meh

I find it absolutely hilarious that he has done no such incident like what happened with Rihanna and Rihanna has also forgiven him as well, yet people keep bringing up this piece of his history. I too am against any kind of domestic abuse, whether male-on-female or female-on-male, but how long are people going to keep throwing this in his face? He keeps putting out hits, his concerts are always packed, artists enjoy working with him, yet this is what his "haters" keep bring up. Are they jealous that he's moved on and moved up from? Trust me, nobody will forget that he beat up Rihanna cause there will always be people hating on him and throwing it in his face. Like Chris Brown said, “F–k off." This is just one more reason why I dislike Miranda Lambert.
