Readers Respond: Bobby Brown Gets Kicked Out of Whitney Houston’s Funeral

While Whitney Houston‘s family gathered inside New Hope Baptist Church to pay their respects on Saturday, her former husband Bobby Brown was outside getting into an argument.

Although Brown’s invitation allowed him to bring two guests, the New Edition member brought nine people to the service. Bobby was granted entrance to the church but his party was moved around several times before he finally complained to security. A source told TMZ that Bobby wanted to sit with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, but Whitney’s family denied his request. Bobby reportedly left the service before it ended.

Celebuzz took it to our Facebook to see what our readers had to say about this situation. Here’s how you responded:

Romi A.  Screw his entourage, he should’ve been there for his daughter!

Tanya S. Who shows up at a funeral with 9 people? He should have showed up alone or with his wife and given that respect to Whitney’s family.

Tamarind D. – Why did they have to taint such a beautiful service. If what Bobby just said is true, those security people owe him and his family an apology.

Ashley N. — He shouldn’t have been allowed to attend.

Karolina W. — even tho they say that the security moved him and his family 3times and didn’t let him see Bobby K. it still was not right in my personal opinion. he should of shut his mouth, sit where they told him to and pay his respect!

Maricelle K. — Bobby Brown ruined her life. Not to forget he abused her too! Whitney didn’t want anything to do with him. So, NO he shouldn’t have been there but glad he paid his respect & left.

Agnes M. — He should have stayed but respect the family’s wishes. Why bring 9 people along if the invite says only 2.

Megan J. — Should have been there not only for Whitney but at least his daughter

Monde S. — It’s always all about Bobby Brown to him. But today, it was Whitney’s day.

Susan A. — He should have for Bobby Kristina even though he wasn’t seated next to her and furthermore to pay his last respects to Whitney these are who were important at this time, nothing else.

Sarah H. — He should have been there for his daughter.

April P. — If he cared about his daughter then he’d have stayed by her side at her mother’s funeral.

Brown later released an official statement to CNN on the matter. It read:

“My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. … I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”
