69th Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

UPDATE: Gerard Butler has completed his stint in rehab, his rep has confirmed to PEOPLE.

"Gerard has completed a successful course of treatment and has returned home in good health," a spokesperson said on Friday. "We will not be making any further comment at this time."

Original story:

Actor Gerard Butler is seeking treatment for substance abuse at the Betty Ford Center in California, TMZ is reporting.

According to the report, Butler entered the facility three weeks ago after he became reliant upon prescription pills. His issues reportedly date back to the physical demands of filming 300 in 2006, and were exacerbated after he suffered an injury on the set of his new movie Of Men and Mavericks in December.

Sources added Butler has also had issues with cocaine. He is expected to be released today.

Butler's dramatic weight loss has been the subject of talk in the last few months. In September, the actor accredited the weight loss to Mavericks, in which he plays a surfer.
