'Hunger Games' Lead Song Revealed - Arcade Fire's 'Abraham's Daughter' (LISTEN)
Although the Hunger Games soundtrack won't be released until March 20, fans can finally get a sneak peek at the film's lead song, Arcade Fire’s “Abraham’s Daughter." Arcade frontman Win Butler spoke to EW and revealed his inspiration for the song.
”It’s not a pop song or anything. More of an anthem that could be playing at a big sporting event like the Games... There’s something in the story of Abraham and Isaac that I think resonates with the themes in the film, like sacrificing children. So we made a weird, apocryphal, alternate-universe version of that, where it’s as if Abraham had a daughter — kind of a metaphor for Katniss.”Listen to "Abraham's Daughter" below, and let us know what you think.
Last month, Taylor Swift recorded a track for the upcoming Hunger Games film and shot a music video for "Safe & Sound."
The video is very much inspired by the games, as Taylor is seen wandering around a forest, much like the area where Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) fight for their lives. Watch the video below.
