Jon Hamm: My Kim Kardashian Diss Was 'Not Personal'

The Jon Hamm and Kim Kardashian feud is heating up. Earlier this week, the Mad Men star slammed her in an interview with Elle UK. Jon called out Kim (and her former BFF Paris Hilton), saying that "being a f–-king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly.” Kim was rubbed the wrong way and responded by calling his comments "careless." But the drama isn't ending there!

On Tuesday evening, E! News interviewed Jon and asked him to address the controversial comments. His response:

"It's surprising to me that it has become remotely a story. I don't know Ms. Kardashian, I know her public persona. What I said was meant to be more on pervasiveness of something in our culture, not personal, but she took offense to it and that is her right."
It's not exactly an apology but will hopefully be enough to end this feud.

On Monday, Kardashian broke her silence about the comments.

"I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs and creates 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless."
Are you Team Kim or Team Jon? Sound off in the comments.

Oh, please. "Successful"? Kim Kardashian leaked a sex tape to gain notoriety and has done absolutely nothing of consequence since but lend her name to work that other people perform. Her current "success" level has absolutely nothing to do with brains, hard work, or talent, and everything to do with how brainless and tasteless her fans are. The fact that she even HAS fans is reason enough to pray for Western Civilization to just FALL already.

Its like you learn my thoughts! You seem to understand a lot about this, such as you wrote the ebook in it or something. I believe that you can do with a few % to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, that is fantastic blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.

Well, I guess it depends of your definition of "success". For me, been successful is not about having money or having your picture taken all the time.

So, you're saying that people should follow Kim's approach to stardom..."Grow up, get laid, and move on." The reason she has detractors is because she is a contradiction. She puts it all out there, regularly, but then cries over modesty and innocence. She brands everything about herself and then states she has not profited from her wedding. It makes no sense to an intelligent person.

It was beyond careless ... it was rude. Kim is a popular, pretty girl. Most of her haters are not popular or pretty. She is more successful at this early age than most people will be in there entire lifetimes. Perhaps others could reach greater heights themselves if they realized there is nothing entrepreneurial about being a hate monger. Grow up, get laid, and move on.

Well YEAH she took offense to it, you associated her with the words "fucking idiot". I'm sure if someone came out and said "Whether it's Jon Hamm or whoever, bad acting is certainly acceptable. Being a talentless actor is just fine in this culture, as long as you're good looking or have connections in the business, then you will be rewarded significantly" then Jon would take offense to that as well. ... no one would say that about Jon Hamm though, because he actually does have more talent in his pinky than a Kardashian could ever hope to have in their entire being. He was just saying what everyone was thinking, TEAM HAMM!

You mean whoever wrote and proofread it for her.

Correction: whoever wrote that for her responded rather well. And she no more "runs her own businesses," "produces, writes, designs, and creates" than she flaps her arms and flies to Vegas every weekend.

Thank you John for saying what America wants to say: "You're beautiful, but that's all you are." If you open your mouth, you're a bimbo. Anybody who follows your life needs a SERIOUS reality check.

He is completely right. End of story. But I must say, she responded rather well...kept herself composed.
