Jonathan Groff Confirms ‘Glee’ Return! Will He Crash Rachel Berry’s Wedding? (EXCLUSIVE)
Rumors began to circulate about the actor’s return to the hit FOX show when he was spotted back on set — and he officially confirmed to Celebuzz on Monday night that he is in fact back, reprising his role as former love interest to Rachel Berry (Lea Michele). Will Jesse’s return be a wrench in Rachel and Finn Hudon’s (Cory Monteith) wedding plans? We can only assume!
“Yes, I just finished filming a new episode,” he revealed, adding that even though he recently moved to Chicago to film his new show Boss, he’ll “be going back and forth to shoot more” as his schedule allows.
He won’t give many spoilers, but Jonathan really wants to bring out his tap dancing shoes.
The actor, who performed an eight-minute tap musical number from Anything Goes during MCC’s Miscast 2012 gala in NYC, admits he wants to bring the routine to Glee.
“I’ve had so much fun practicing, so I don’t want to it to end after this event. It’s sad. I’ve done all this tapping — and now it’s over. I might as well put these tap dancing skills to good use.”
Jonathan, who turned 27 on Monday, celebrated the big day by taking 14 guests to the Miscast event, where they got to see his highly-anticipated tap routine. Although his Glee gal Lea couldn’t be there, her parents were those among his supporting guests.
“They’ve all been counting down the days to this event… Our parents became great friends during our Broadway run of Spring Awakening. We’re like one big family,” he gushed.
