Nadya 'Octomom' Suleman Talks Topless Photos: 'I Haven't Even Seen Them' (EXCLUSIVE)
Nadya "Octomom" Suleman is back in the news, after posing for some very revealing photos! Celebuzz caught up with the mother of 14 to talk about the photo spread she did for Closer magazine.
No stranger to financial troubles, one of the main reasons Nadya told us she did this was for -- what else? -- money.
According to reports, she received around $10,000 for the shoot, which was the precise amount she needed for a new place.
The 36-year-old told us:
"Well, I got the opportunity from my manager and I said no at first. Then I thought about it for awhile and I realized, you know we are destitute right now. If I wasn't in the situation I'm in I wouldn't even fathom doing something like that. It's not conducive to my morals and values, but the way I rationalized was it is the truth. You know, this is a woman's magazine. It's not a men's magazine, which I perceive to be exploitative and over sexualized. This is more of a celebration of a woman's body -- particularly after having one child, let alone 14. I think all women should have the confidence and inner strength to be okay with themselves and to express themselves and love themselves and be confident. It's more a celebration kind of thing. And of course, I needed the money. That's the primary reason. That's mainly it."So, have any of her 14 kids seen the photos?
"You wouldn't believe, I haven't seen one picture. I don't want to. I don't know what they look like. I'm not normal. I have not even seen them. I've never seen any of the interviews I've ever done. I've never seen any pictures I've ever done. Nope. Not only have I never saved anything, I have never even seen any."Exactly how much input did she have when it came to the style of the shoot?
"No, they did it and I didn't want to see it. I was with my best friend, she saw them. She's a professional artist, she paints beautifully and she saw them and said "that's appropriate, that's beautiful, that looks good". So I trusted her and the hairstylist. I knew what I was doing, I was covering myself. So it was appropriate."We also asked if the idea of a "nude" photo shoot was brought up right away, to which she replied:
"No, I said no right away. I said no to nude, it wasn't nude, it was topless and it was me covering my private areas. I have underwear on the whole time. It's really when you think about it, I am showing no more than when I did the bikini photo shoot, which I also haven't seen [laughs]. So I don't feel it's inappropriate. I am absolutely not ashamed whatsoever. I was kind of proud that nothing had to be airbrushed. I was hiding my tattoos in the underwear and a little make-up on the tattoos and that's it. I was proud of that."
