One Direction Causes Major Security Issues For Australian Awards Show
One Direction mania knows no bounds!
The British boy band is scheduled to perform at the Logie Awards this weekend (Australia's version of the Emmy's) -- and there is such large hype around it, that parents are being encouraged to keep their daughters at home, The Daily Telegraph is reporting.
Apparently, when the guys (Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson) were booked, the producers had no idea what a frenzy it would stir up and now it has created a "security nightmare."
Organizersy are anticipating that a number of young girls will attempt to camp outside where the ceremony is, in order to catch a glimpse of the dreamy megastars.
A spokeswoman for the awards show said:
"We are getting more security and more police. Our main priority surrounding the performance is the safety of those fans attending and the community surrounding the Crown precinct, as well as the boys themselves. It's very unlikely they'll even see them. At best, they may see their car go past. That could be very disappointing and distressing for young people."
