Dita Von Teese’s search for her missing dog Eva ended in sadly Monday night when the 39-year-old Burlesque dancer-model discovered that her pet had died.

“My beloved Eva passed on tonight. Thank you for all your kind words. It means a lot to me,” she wrote on her Facebook.

How little Eva actually died is not yet known. The dog was first reported missing yesterday by Dita, who sought help on her WhoSay account.

“My dog Eva is missing, if anyone in Los Feliz/LA sees her, email Cali@dita.net. Good thoughts for her return are also appreciated,” she wrote.

This isn’t the first time a celebrity’s pet has died suddenly. Last month, The Hurt Locker actor Jeremy Renner’s 8-month-old French bulldog Franklin died after running around at a Little League baseball game.

In February, Garrett Hedlund helped girlfriend Kirsten Dunst search for her missing cat in Hollywood. The search results were never revealed.
