UPDATE: A law enforcement spokesperson says Zimmerman has been charged with second degree murder and is in custody.

The law has spoken and now, so are the celebrities.

From Taraji P. Henson to Russell Simmons, Hollywood heavyweights took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon to react to the news that George Zimmerman is expected to be charged with the death of Trayvon Martin, who was shot in Florida on Feb. 26 by George, a man claiming to be neighborhood watchman, in a gated community.  Trayvon was unarmed and walking through the community when he was pursued by Zimmerman – who claimed the boy looked “suspicious.”  At some point during the pursuit of the boy, Zimmerman shot and killed him, claiming that he felt “threatened.”

But what are the celebs saying about the news?

What do you think? Should Zimmerman have been charged?

An interesting discussion is price comment. I believe that it is best to write extra on this subject, it won't be a taboo topic but generally people are not enough to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers

the only people who know 100% what happened there are Trayvon, Zimmerman, and God. He did the responsible thing turning himself in, and the case will proceed. It seemed open and shut when we first heard about it, but then things came out about the news releasing a doctored version of the 911 call to make it sound racist, and he was supposedly injured. my BIGGEST concern is that justice is done. If Trayvon was no threat to him I hope he faces the death penalty. If Trayvon WAS a threat to him I hope he is exonerated. Innocent until proven guilty is there for a reason. Even if you are 99% sure that it was murder and not self defense, for the sake of justice you should keep yourself open minded. And it wasn't video taped or anything, so unless you were there you CAN NOT be 100% sure.

  • Nope

In the U.S. You're guilty til proven innocent.....everybody born into poverty knows that.

To hell with innocent until proven guilty for a man who openly admitted to killing a INNOCENT child. Your fucked off in the head if you can go about your life if you think for a moment this man deserves the hope of being or given the chance to be told hes innocent. With all the evidence shown the past month proving there was no act of self defense anywhere in what took place that night that man only deserves to be in prison for life since he thinks the can take life and think he would get away with it

Ok, so he's innocent until we prove he did what we already know he did... shouldn't be too hard.

"as we proceed...we will do so with the utmost dignity, respect and compassion." Which will be an interesting 180 to the racist cat calling and community self-pity we've seen up until this point. Jesse and Rev. Al think it's cute to incite a race riot. Thanks, guys.
