Jessica Simpson Gives Birth To 9-Pound Baby Girl -- Maxwell Drew Johnson
Breaking the news on her website, the triple threat celebrity, 31, and her fiance Eric Johnson, 32, welcomed a healthy baby girl on Tuesday, May 1, weighing in at nine pounds, 13 ounces and 21 3/4 inches. They named their new daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson, the middle name reportedly deriving from Jessica's mother, Tina Simpson, whose maiden name is Drew.
"This has been the greatest experience of our lives," Jessica's website read, adding that the new parents are "elated." Congrats!
Throughout her pregnancy, Celebuzz tracked Jessica's growing baby bump.
The Fashion Star judge opened up to Harper's Bazaar about having a daughter, telling the mag, “I swear, I will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins!” She added, "[My fiancee] (a former NFL player) is so athletic — we’re gonna have this athletic girl and I won’t even be able to take her shopping, ’cause all she’s gonna want is sports bras and Nikes!”
