Today, the disco lights will be dimmed to honor the late Donna Summer, who died Wednesday after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 63.

Over the course of her three-decades-plus career, the disco queen released some of the best songs of all-time, and went on to become one of the most successful female artists, thanks to such hits as "I Feel Love" and "Hot Stuff."

Beginning in 1975, Summer made her mark on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Love to Love You Baby," which skyrocketed to No. 2 on the chart. Subsequent hits followed, including "Last Dance"; however it wasn't until 1978 when Donna achieved her first No. 1 smash, with "MacArthur Park."

Numerous No. 1 songs followed, including "Hot Stuff," "Bad Girls" and "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)," her duet with Barbra Streisand.

Her last single was "To Paris With Love," which reached the top of the US Dance Charts, in 2010.
