Elizabeth Banks on ‘Hunger Games’ Director Change: ‘Fresh Eyes Will Be Fun For the Franchise’ (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)
When Celebuzz sat down with Banks during a promotional interview for the film — out May 18 — we asked about The Hunger Games’ director shake up and whether she was surprised Gary Ross opted out of the sequel, Catching Fire?
“I wasn’t that surprised,” Elizabeth, 38, said. “Of course I’m disappointed, I love him we’ve made two movies together now and he’s an amazing filmmaker and he did a great job.”
So what are Elizabeth’s thoughts on the new director Francis Lawrence?
“I also feel like it’s going to be really fun for the franchise to have fresh eyes in there and give someone else as shot,” she continued.
“I think Gary is very happy (and) as long as he’s happy, it’s fine.”
Banks has found success in her personal life, too. She is the proud mother of son Felix whom was conceived via gestational surrogate.
We asked, does she have plans for another kid anytime soon?
“You know what, hopefully,” Elizabeth told Celebuzz. “I would love for Felix to have a little brother or sister. We’ll see.”
