Britney Spears Arrives at 'The X Factor' Auditions in Texas (PHOTOS)

Britney-Spears-X-Factor-Austin

Today marks a huge day for The X Factor, as Britney Spears and Demi Lovato begin their first day as judges for the upcoming season's first round of auditions in Texas.

Spears looked gorgeous, wearing a neon pink mini dress and seemed very excited about starting her new gig, writing on Twitter:

"So excited to be going to Austin this week for @TheXFactorUSA auditions! Will I see any of y'all there on Thurs or Fri?"
Is Spears ready to be a tough judge?

Only time will tell if the gals will be brutally honest, but at least Britney seems excited to be a judge, telling People at the show’s upfronts,

“It’s going to be so much fun and so different from anything I’ve ever done.”

A brand new promo for X Factor aired on May 23 night on American Idol finale where Phillip Phillips was crowned winner. In the clip, head judge Simon Cowell is caught saying "What was I thinking?" about hiring the girls.

What do you think about the new X Factor judges? Did Simon make the right choice, or are there more qualified musicians that would have been better suited for the judges’ table? State your case in the comments!

Its an entertainment show first and a talent competition second, and people tend to forget that. The numbers for American Idol are dropping because the show feels a little old and stale and I don't believe that the judges on that show relate very well to a younger audience. The experience and qualifications of the judges means very little in the end if the judges are boring. I'm not sure Stephen Tyler or J.Lo have ever done much, entertainment wise, to excite that show. The best excitement J.Lo adds to Idol is when she is performing, not when she is judging. Whether the new X Factor will entertain or not remains to be seen, but you really can't pass judgment one way or another if you've never even seen it.
